How many aircraft will cover Safari Rally 2024? KCAA said Safari Rally 2024, scheduled between Thursday, March 28 and Sunday, March 31, will be covered by more than 15 aircraft. The authority director general Emile N. Aoro said KCAA will employ a specialised Air Traffic Control and Flight Information Service Desk for vigilance and safety. "We have collaborated closely with rally organisers to establish operating procedures, supported by a notice to Airmen (NOTAM) effective until Sunday, March 31, 2024," said Aoro. Aoro said the 15 aircraft will be engaged in various roles including VIP transport, media coverage, and medical emergency response. He urged the public to maintain a safe distance from aircraft during take-off and landing procedures. "A team of air traffic control officers will also be on site coordinating movement and timely alerting of aircraft. Working with the Rescue Coordination Centre, KCAA is also prepared to facilitate Medical Evacuation and address any potential aircraft distress scenarios." "As the on-track action ramps up, we urge members of the public to observe safety protocol," read KCAA statement released on Tuesday, March 26, in part.
