UFAA in possession of Ksh 63B unclaimed assets

The Unclaimed Financial Assets Authority (UFAA) has called on the public who might have unknowingly abandoned financial assets to seek assistance from the authority or government institutions in order to make claims.

Speaking at Kipsitet, Kericho County, Caroline Chirchir, Administrator, Unclaimed Financial Assets Authority, said the authority currently holds Ksh 63 billion worth of assets, calling on the owners to make follow ups.

Chirchir said they have unified Ksh 2 billion and the authority is on course to look for the owners of the assets who might have died or abandoned without their knowledge.

The Unclaimed Financial Assets Authority handles financial assets abandoned by their owners, and safeguards until the owners follow it up and make claims.

She was speaking during a CSR activity at Kipsitet, where the authority met with Algaa Women Group, which benefited with Ksh 2.5 million from the authority for commercial growing of tomatoes and capsicum.

According to Hannington Kirui, Project Manager Algaa Community Organic Farming, said a total of five children of the widows in the organisation have received sponsorship from UFAA.
