Priest urges women over 35 to propose to men

A Catholic priest in Nigeria has sparked controversy on social media after a video emerged of him preaching about girls seeking marriage.

The servant of God advises sisters, especially those aged 35, to take the initiative instead of waiting to be courted if they truly believe they have the potential for marriage.

The priest named Oluowa advised the sisters to break the rules and norms of waiting to be courted and instead take the responsibility to propose to men whom they feel are suitable for them.

"My dear sisters, are you waiting for a man to come and propose to you? At the age of 35, you are just waiting, thinking you are ready... break that rule! I say this seriously, if you are a woman who knows she deserves to be married, you know you can be a good wife, and you are 35 years old, if you see a man who has intentions for you but lacks the courage to tell you, break that wrong rule and pursue that man," the pastor advised.

He said that there are men who lack the courage to tell a beautiful woman that they love her and urged women who see such signs not to wait but to be the first to express their feelings to that man.

"Break that rule and tell him, 'brother, I've noticed you look at me a lot, I know you love me but you lack the courage to speak up'... right there, the guy will start laughing and swallowing words, tell him you will make it easy for him, tell him your criteria well that you are good at cooking, you will be a good wife, you won't check his phone, you won't give him a headache, and you will be a good mother to your children," the pastor revealed.
