Ninety Nines Flying School has paid a heartfelt tribute to one of its esteemed instructors, Newborn Omote, who lost his life in a tragic mid-air collision. The flying school also described the late instructor as determined, focused, responsible, and hardworking despite having come out of school recently. "Newborn, Everyone calls you brother. Always ready with a smile and a story. A simple 'hi' was never enough; you always stopped for a minute to chat," wrote the school.  "Determined and focused straight out of school. Responsible, hardworking, and always ready to help. So much to say, but not enough words," it added. According to the flying school. Newborn had immense faith in and prayed that God rewarded him for his unshakable faith in Him. Kenyans are mourning the loss of Newborn who hails from Nyankoba Location, Nyankoba Sublocation, Rigoma Division, Rigoma Ward, Kitutu Masaba Constituency. The tragedy unfolded when the Safarilink aircraft, led by Omote, collided head-on with another plane near Wilson Airport. Omote, an experienced pilot, had gained recognition for his skills and even had the opportunity to fly the then Deputy President William Ruto during the 2022 political campaigns. Ninety Nines Flying School, where Omote served as an instructor, expressed deep sorrow at the loss of their colleague. The school has offered condolences to the family and friends of Newborn Omote, emphasizing the impact he had on both the aviation community and those who had the privilege of knowing him.
