Nandi Man Storms Betting Company Offices After Allegedly Losing KSh 1.2m out of 1.5m He Won
Collins Kiptoo, a resident of Nandi Hills, stormed a betting company's offices in Westlands, Nairobi, after allegedly losing over KSh 1.2 million shillings of his winnings. Kiptoo broke down and cried. According to Lemiso Media House, the incident occurred following a series of events that began on March 13, 2024. Kiptoo claims that on the said date, he successfully placed a bet and won over KSh 1.5 million. The money was deposited into his account at 1 am on March 14; however, his joy was short-lived as he encountered difficulties while attempting to place another bet just ten minutes later. When he contacted the betting company, he was informed to wait 24 hours before placing another bet. While waiting for the period to elapse, Kiptoo says he withdrew KSh 300,000, the maximum amount allowed by the company. At 7:29 pm on March 14, he checked his account and found the remaining balance intact, only to find the account empty when he checked it again at around 1:30 am the following day. Upon contacting the company's customer care, Kiptoo was informed that his account had lost money due to auto bets. Despite his claims that he did not place any bets after winning, the staff maintained that the losses were legitimate. In his quest for answers, he took matters into his own hands and visited the company's offices in Westlands. He is demanding to know who withdrew his money and is seeking clarification on the events that led to the loss of over KSh 1.2 million from his account.
