Nakuru: 2 Killed, Several Injured after Matatu Ferrying Eritreans Rams into Lorry
Two people have been confirmed dead following a grisly accident at Sayatu area along the Nakuru-Eldoret Highway. The matatu rammed into a stationary truck. Citizen Digital reported that the Saturday, March 16 accident happened after an 11-seater matatu belonging to Eldoret Shuttle rammed into a stationary truck. The matatu was ferrying passengers of Eritrean nationality and was heading to Eldoret when the accident occurred at 9.40pm. R Police report at Salgaa Police Station indicates the truck had developed mechanical problems and was left on the roadside unattended without any warning signs. Two unknown people died while receiving treatment at Nakuru County Hospital, while 12 others sustained serious injuries and were admitted. "The survivors were all rushed to Nakuru County Hospital, and their names could not be established immediately due to the language barrier. Two unknown died while undergoing treatment while twelve others who sustained both serious and slight injuries have been admitted at the said facility," the police report read.
