In 2014, journalist Diana Makokha found herself in a challenging situation that tested her resilience and love. Sought jobs for jobless boyfriend The then-31-year-old was applying for jobs tirelessly, not for herself, but for her partner, who had left her pregnant while jobless.  Despite the difficulties, Diana decided to draft his CV and reach out to potential employers. "I just wanted mine to have a job," Diana shared, revealing that she even faced unwanted advances from some individuals she approached. When it became apparent that employment was not forthcoming, she took a loan from Stima Sacco to start a business. The business failed within three months despite her efforts, leaving her to bear the financial burden alone. "I was doing it in the hope of securing a stable income for our upcoming family," she recalled. In her words, she won the family bread alone for such a long time to the point that when things refused to work, she threw in the towel. Invested in family house She told TUKO.co.ke that apart from the business, she invested in building a dream house for the family in the village. " Expert Advises After paying for 4500 bricks, Diana says it broke her to discover later that they were either sold or taken away. That was not all; on days they went out on dates, she would pass him money under the table to pay the bill and save face. "He still did me dirty. Very, very dirty," Diana lamented, highlighting the betrayal she experienced despite her sacrifices. Through this challenging experience, Diana learned valuable lessons about life and resilience. The mother of two is still single but remains hopeful that the love of her life will soon find her. These days, she looks at the photos they took during the brick-making process and laughs at the mistakes, but she doesn't regret them.
