Moses Lenolkulal: Ex-Samburu Governor Loses Luxurious Karen Home, Plots to Gov't in Graft Case

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) is set to seize several properties owned by former Samburu governor Moses Lenolkulal. Ex-Samburu governor Moses Lenolkulal (pictured) is battling a corruption case.  The development came after the High Court issued orders allowing EACC to seize four prime properties, among them Lenolkulal's multimillion matrimonial home in Karen, over an ongoing graft case.  In her ruling, High Court Judge Esther Maina said assets should be forfeited to the government as they were proceeds of crime.  In the case, EACC had stated that it intended to recover KSh 80 million from the Lenolkulal, obtained as proceeds of corruption when he served as Samburu governor. Following the ruling, the anti-graft agency said it had commenced the process to implement the judgement by the High Court and will recover the money with a 12% interest. “Investigations also revealed that the Defendant (Mr Lenolkulal), using the proceeds of corruption received as stated above, invested the same in the acquisition of four properties all located in Karen Nairobi at KSh 15 million each; property known as LR No. 2259/744(IR. 134495/1), LR No. 2259/745 (IR.134494/1), LR No. 2259/749 (IR. 134510/1) and LR No. 2259/750 (IR. 134511/1),” the EACC said as reported by Nation.  In the ongoing corruption case, Lenolkulal is accused of instigating trade between the Samburu County Government and Oryx Service Station, which he allegedly owns, by supplying fuel worth over KSh 84 million.
