Modern Coast facilitates stranded woman's travel In October 2023, a distressed woman named Leah, who found herself stuck after being chased away by her husband, was offered a lifeline by the company's staff on Accra Road in Nairobi. Leah had been turned away by other travel service providers who demanded full fare to allow her and her two-year-old child on board. She was visibly shaken as she recounted the trials and tribulations she had experienced in her quest to secure a ticket back home. According to the bus company, the traumatised mother begged them to accept the KSh 750 she had and book a ticket from Nairobi to Busia. As luck would have it, the kindhearted staff members empathised with her predicament and issued her a free ticket. They not only returned the KSh 750 that she had initially offered for a ticket but also provided them with a safe waiting area and a meal for the child. When the bus bound for Busia eventually arrived, Leah broke into tears with a heart full of gratitude as she boarded the vehicle back home. She left Nairobi with a deep sense of relief, vowing never to return to the city that had brought her so much pain. The incident was received with admiration online as social media users praised the company for being thoughtful.
