A man and his wife have opened up about the challenges they encountered with their wedding plans. Kitui couple Justinah Geoffrey (l) and her husband Geoffrey Meka claimed their family member embezzled their wedding money.  Geoffrey Meka and his lovely wife, Justinah Geoffrey, experienced an embarrassing and painful setback as they prepared for their wedding. I warned him, Justinah The couple noted they had chosen Justinah's cousin as their treasurer, despite Justinah being uncomfortable with the plan.  Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, Justinah, a gospel artiste, noted he warned her husband against giving money to her family members. "I'm the one that was born there. I knew they'd start doing some things behind the scenes once they learned I was getting married. I warned him against giving anyone money. He heard, but he never remembered," she said. Meka gives Justinah's cousin money Justinah's cousin borrowed KSh 1,000 from Meka, who joyfully gave it to her as he did not want to look like a lousy in-law. "We finished the burial, and everybody's concentration returned to the wedding. At that point, we decided to tell the cousin who had the money to send it so that we could settle a few logistics here and there. She told us to wait, and she'd send it soon, but two days went by without her sending it," Meka said.  Justinah's cousin switches off her phone The couple from Kitui noted they had already contributed KSh 100,000 to their wedding, which they had been waiting for from the cousin. That did not happen, as Justinah's cousin switched off her phone two days before the wedding and could not be contacted. "The committee decided that we would work with the money available. Those friends filled any gaps left for us, but they had to cut costs. The wedding day arrived. We did the wedding, and it was good," he said.
