The late TikToker Brian Chira became famous after he was interviewed by a local TV station in 2022 about his eyewitness account of a road accident.
He was living in Nakuru at the time. In the interview, Chira could be heard saying,
"My name is Chira, naitwa Brian Chira. And I saw the whole accident. A lorry was coming up from the other side and there was a matatu alafu kulianza watu walianza kushout nduru nduru, alafu tukatoka kuangalia, ..so it happened that there were two ladies out on a matatu na vichwa zao hazikuwa."
"It's tragic, and what I would want to ask the Government is that create bumps and create awareness," the brief video ends.
The date and timing of that interview have piqued the interest of Kenyans who have noted some odd coincidences.
Some have pointed out that the interview happened on the 13th of December but the clip went viral on December 16th, 2022. Brian passed on the 16th of March 2024. The 16th is been fingered as a bizarre pattern.
That's not all.
Another strange coincidence is the fact that the interview related to Brian recounting how a lorry and matatu had an accident.
The late Brian himself was the victim of a hit and run supposedly involving a lorry.
Another interesting detail that has emerged is a Facebook screenshot of a man called who had supposedly claimed that the late Brian and a prominent journalist wouldn't see the end of 2024.
The screenshot is dated 6th Dec 2023 and has been reshared severally. It reads,
"BRIAN CHIRA KUMALIZ MWAKA HUU NI NGUMU ATAANZA YEYE. ALAFU JOURNALIST MMOJA MAARUFU," claimed the individual.
The man returned online this past weekend to speak about his premonition and stated,
"Kutabiri kifo cha mtu haimanishi wewe ni mchawi. Sasa mimi ninaonyeshwa na Mungu afu wengine mnakuja na matusi, naomba mkome kuniopngelesha staki ugomvi na mtu hasira zangu hamjui," he said about his post.
