Jowie Irungu's Pastor Pleads for Lenient Sentence , Says Singer Was Church's Choirmaster

 

Joseph Irungu, alias Jowie, the convict in the murder of businesswoman Monica Kimani, has been sentenced to death. Jowie Irungu's pastor had pleaded for leniency in his sentencing. During his sentencing, Lady Justice Grace Nzioka revealed that the musician's pastor, Shadrack Oloo, had good things to say about Jowie. Nzioka noted that his pastor had described Jowie as a dedicated church member and pleaded for leniency. According to Shadrack, Jowie was a choirmaster in their church. "Says that the accused person is a member of his church and was steadfast in faith, relates very well with fellow Christians and at the time of his arrest was the choirmaster in the church, He pleaded for leniency," Nzioka read.
