Kenya is set to pick its team for the International Schools Federation (ISF) World Schools Cross Country Championship during trials set for March 27-28 at Nakuru High School.
The Ministry of Education has directed its regional directors to fast-track the Term One Cross-country Championships calendar in order to allow the regional top six athletes to compete during the trials.
The top ten finishers in each category during the trials will qualify to represent the country in the world inter-schools championship scheduled for May 9-14 at Ngong Race Course.
Close to 500 students from over 20 countries will compete in three categories for both genders; under-20, under-15 and under-18.
Besides sporting activities, the organisers are planning to spice up the championship with cultural activities to give delegations opportunities to exchange and learn about each of the participants and their countries.
Last year’s 25th edition was held in Slovakia.
