Former Citizen TV journalist Jacque Maribe has penned a message to Digital strategist Dennis Itumbi, who is celebrating his birthday.
Through her Instagram stories on Monday, Maribe appreciated their two decades of friendship with a specialised personalised message.
“Happy birthday Dennis Itumbi. The two solid decades of friendship have been a testament to highs and lows and love all the same,” she said.
The former news anchor accompanied her message with a photo. In the photo, Itumbi and Maribe are seen posing with their heads locked with some men and women also in the picture wearing bright smiles.
“This new year around the sun, this group in this picture will help you find a wife so everyone stops assuming it’s me. Happy birthday D.I,” Maribe wrote.
Itumbi also posted the story by Maribe on his Instagram page.
This was after he shared a video of him being celebrated by a group of students. Itumbi was wearing a party hat and a cake was placed before him.
“Unatufurahisha roho Denno. You make us smile,” the students sang as they cheered and clapped.
It has been claimed that Maribe and Itumbi used to be an item at some point but Maribe gave clarity on the claims saying they were just friend.
In January 2020, Maribe posted a simple one-word line noting the beauty of her friendship with the Digital Strategist.
“Friendship is and always will be us @dennisitumbi for rain, for shine, for getting through it all together.”
He in turn wrote back, “And my friend @jacquemaribe turned up to cheer up a friend. Asante.”
On February 9, Itumbi expressed his profound happiness on the acquittal of Maribe in the murder case of businesswoman Monica Kimani.
Itumbi who was part of the family and friends who waited in the courtroom as the final verdict was delivered said the truth has finally “unveiled its brilliance dispelling the darkness.”
In an emotional post moments after Justice Grace Nzioka finished reading the judgment, Itumbi said Maribe was a pawn in the case.
“It has been six years, a journey of shadows, where unjust chains sought to bind the spirit of a great friend, a charming personality, a friend I treasure much,” he said.
