Controversial Neno Evangelism Centre preacher James Ng’ang’a has stated that he would be willing to sell the government the plot of land that houses his church, the Neno Evangelism Centre, for KSh 200 billion. Pastor Ng’ang’a kneels to pray at his church. Speaking outside Parliament grounds following his appearance before the House’s Departmental Committee on Lands, the pastor maintained that he was the rightful owner of the disputed land as he accused the government of attempting to take it over from him. The cleric claimed he bought the disputed land at KSh 42 million, financed through a loan from Equity Bank. . “They are used to fighting the church, but they won’t attack this one. I have all the rights…KSh 42 million, that is a lot of money… we paid. I have brought my documents, and if you (the government) want the land, come, and I will sell it to you… I want KSh 200 billion… take it through negotiations,” he fumed, as reported by Citizen Digital. What EACC said about disputed land The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) accused Pastor Ng’ang’a of grabbing land designated for Kenya Railways. EACC seeks to reclaim land occupied by Neno Evangelism Church along the junction of Haile Selassie Avenue and Uhuru Highway The land is among five the commission seeks to reclaim at the intersection of Haile Selassie Avenue and Uhuru Highway. According to NTV, the land occupied by Neno Evangelism Centre and other individuals is valued at KSh 1.6 billion.
