Governor Eric Mutai has received a hostile reception from a crowd in Belgut, Kericho county. Governor Eric Mutai slammed those who heckled him.  On Sunday, March 14, the Kericho governor was booed at an event where President William Ruto was commissioning the Kapsuser-Sosiot Road. While other speakers had a humble time addressing the audience, Mutai’s time was met with unfriendly chants from the crowd.  When the president invited the governor to speak, the crowd started heckling and indicating to the head of state that they did not want Mutai to address them. What Eric Mutai said after being heckled Despite the president’s presence, the audience refused to remain calm; they shouted and demanded that he hand over the microphone. “Thank you, Mr. President; here in Belgut, we have a problem with the market, and I know the problem here. We appreciate the tarmac road, and as a county, we have done cabro roads, and we plan to complete them,” Mutai said as the crowd heckled. Mutua, who appeared annoyed by the booing, slammed the resident, saying he would not allow such behaviour in Kericho. “This is bad manners, and it should stop because, in Kericho, we shall not allow such kind of behaviour. As a governor, I will not allow this trend, and I have said we must work,” he told the crowd as the president watched in disbelief.
