During his sentencing, Lady Justice Grace Nzioka revealed that the musician’s pastor, Shadrack Oloo, had good things to say about Jowie. Nzioka noted that his pastor had described Jowie as a dedicated church member and pleaded for leniency. According to Shadrack, Jowie was a choirmaster in their church. “Says that the accused person is a member of his church and was steadfast in faith, relates very well with fellow Christians and at the time of his arrest was the choirmaster in the church, He pleaded for leniency,” Nzioka read. Why Jowie prefers to say less in mitigation report In their submissions in the form of mitigations dated Sunday, March 10, Jowie stated that nothing he said at the moment would relieve the family of their pain. Jowie stated that he had resorted to keeping quiet, arguing that the less he said about the incident, the better. “The accused says that he is aware that nothing he says at this stage will relieve the pain of the deceased’s family, and he says the lesser he says, the better,” read Justice Nzioka.
