Man Arrested after Wife Succumbs to Injuries Sustained during Dispute over Conjugal Rights

Source: Getty Images In a statement, Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga reported that Chandiru Judith was killed by her 48-year-old husband Agunda James.  According to the police, the murder by assault happened on Friday, March 1, after a dispute over Chandiru denying Agunda conjugal rights.  “The territorial police in West Nile Region and Ayivu East CPS have in custody a one Agunda James, a 48-year-old peasant of Obaru cell, Ombokolo ward, for the murder by assault, of his wife, Chandiru Judith, aged 23, on the night of 1.03.2024, over denial of conjugal rights,” he said. How did Agunda kill his wife Judith Preliminary investigations revealed that the couple had not made love for some time despite sharing one bed. Judith had accused her husband of being unfaithful, and on the day she died, Judith had left the bed to sleep on the floor. “Facts gathered indicate that the couple has been sharing their marital beds but without sexual affairs, after the victim accused her husband for having extra marital affairs. During the night of 1.03.2024, the suspect picked a quarrel with a wife, and she left the bed for him and slept down on another mattress,” the police said.  Angered by her actions, Agunda reportedly grabbed Judith and hit her around the ribs, leaving her in agonising pain. She later succumbed to the injuries. He then surrendered himself to the police, who documented the scene and examined Judith’s body.
