William Ruto Will Be One-Term President Whether He Drop Gachagua or Not, Edwin Sifuna

As succession politics intensify within leading political factions, Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, has asserted that President William Ruto will not secure a second term, breaking the precedent set by previous administrations. Senator Edwin Sifuna during delegates meeting in Diani, Kwale (l). President Wiliam Ruto in a meeting with officials of Japanese companies (r). Sifuna affirmed that the current state of affairs in the country would compel supporters of the Kenya Kwanza government to address the alleged errors made during the 2022 elections. Why is Edwin Sifuna sure about the fall of Kenya Kwanza? The secretary-general of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) contended that the divisions in Mt. Kenya regarding a suitable successor for the president indicate a keen understanding of governance. He emphasised that voters in that region have gained clarity on their choices. P "I have no doubt in my mind. Ruto is going to be a first-term president, I can assure you. The people of Kenya are going to put a stop to this very terrible experiment they got themselves into in 2022. They have observed that those people they elected have failed to work," Sifuna observed. According to the lawmaker, residents of Mt. Kenya are in a struggle to advocate for either Kiharu Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro or Kirinyaga governor Anne Waiguru, as Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has purportedly not met their expectations.  "Wanaelewa Gachagua amekuwa mzigo kwao. Wanasema walete Ndindi Nyoro au Waiguru kwa sababu kitumbua kimeingia mchanga. Hao watu nawaambia, for as long as we get the IEBC right, hao watu wanaenda nyumbani. (Gachagua has become a burden to them. They are contemplating bringing in Ndidndi Nyoro or Waiguru because things have gotten messy. I'm telling those people, as long as we get the IEBC right, those people are going home)," he added. Sifuna, however, clarified that the key to unseating the Kenya Kwanza government in 2027 lies in the appropriate constitution of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), responsible for overseeing elections. Seth Panyako says Ruto will lose in 2027 In December 2023, former United Democratic Alliance party vice chairperson Seth Panyako said that Ruto would not be voted for a second time. He decried the oppression of Kenyans by the government through heavy taxation and the high cost of living, calling upon the head of state to act or wait to lose in the next elections. "If the cost of living does not come down, you'll break this country's history. You'll become the country's first one-term president. We cannot vote for you in 2027 when we are crying about hunger, and our children are without jobs. That's not something Kenyans can accept," Panyako said.
