Raila Odinga Refers to Ruto as President for 1st Time Since August 2022 Polls
Kisozi - Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party leader Raila Odinga seems to have taken a different view on President William Ruto's presidency. President William Ruto and Raila Odinga during the meeting at President Yoweri Museveni's Kisozi home. The former premier has, in the last 18 months, rejected Ruto's presidency and even resisted referring to him as head of state. However, following their meeting at President Yoweri Museveni's Kisozi home, Raila issued a statement that caught the attention of all in the political landscape. In his statement, the ODM leader said they met following an invite from the Ugandan strongman, referring to Ruto as 'President', arguably the first time since he ascended to office in September 2022. Raila said at the top of the agenda was the East Africa Community's unity and strengthening the ties that bind the nations. "Several days ago, I accepted an invitation from President @KagutaMuseveni of Uganda for a joint meeting with President @WilliamsRuto today to discuss the deepening of regional integration within the East African Community," he wrote.
