Nakuru: 33-Year-Old Woman Found Dead in Boyfriend's House, Family Seeks Justice

The family of Esther Kamanze now relies on law enforcers to get justice for their kin who died under mysterious circumstances. Esther Kamanze's mother (pictured) said there were marks on their deceased kin's face suggesting foul play.NTV reports that Kamanze was found dead inside her boyfriend's house on February 4. How Nakuru woman met her tragic end According to the bereaved family, the 33-year-old allegedly took poison after her boyfriend left her in the house to the market. On returning, the man found her unconscious. His efforts to resuscitate her failed. "They said they had tried giving her ash as first aid," her mother told NTV. However, the family suspected foul play after they discovered the deceased had visible swellings on her face, with one of the hands appearing to have been twisted. The man's family was also opposed to a postmortem and preferred the lady be buried immediately. "They did not want a postmortem but we insisted on it. They offered to take care of the burial expenses if we would opt out of the postmortem idea, but we still wanted it to be conducted," the mother added. Police took over the matter and immediately began their probe with an autopsy whose results they were waiting for at the time of this report. Police officers in Mau Summit arrived at the scene and recovered an axe suspected to have been used to commit the crime. They transferred the body to a hospital in Molo as they waited for a postmortem report and an investigation into the whereabouts of the assailant. A resident of the area said there were chances that her lover could have attacked her after an argument at night. "I suspect that her lover committed the crime because this house was not closed from the outside and it was not closed from the inside. Maybe they quarrelled at night, and then he decided to attack her," he said. Another neighbour confirmed that they did not find any weapon, but going by the nature of the wounds, the assailant could have used a sharp knife.
