Four men have been arrested in the gruesome murder of an Indian businessman at the Lukenya Conservancy. Police officers scour for clues at Jayesh Kumar's alleged murder scene. Kalian Vecaria, Munguti Mulandi, Gideon Muasa and Steven Mwau were arraigned at Kibera Law Courts on Monday, February 19, where they were to be charged with the murder of Jayesh Kumar Kanji.  However, the prosecution sought orders to detain them for 21 more days. The court accepted their prayer, leaving the police with the task of finding the motive behind the murder. A report by Citizen TV revealed a CCTV captured Kanji along Kodi Road in Nairobi West on Valentine's Day, walking alongside his wife and son, who is wearing school uniform. According to the sleuths, Kanji met a friend, Vicaria, an Indian national, moments after escorting his son to school at a petrol station in the area. How was Kanji killed The report further revealed that the two drove towards Mombasa Road using a vehicle, which is now in police custody, arriving at the crime scene at around 11am. Vecaria's alleged hitmen ambushed them inside the vast land surrounded by bushes, hitting Kanji in the back of his head with a blunt object. Armed with acid, the assailants removed Kanji's clothes before dousing the body with the chemical in what police believe was an attempt to conceal the evidence. Despite all their efforts to tamper with the scene, the assailants left the area in a hurry, forgetting the murder weapons. How were Kanji's alleged killers arrested Following his disappearance, Kanji's family made a missing person report at the Langata Police Station on Thursday, February 15. Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) detectives from the Nairobi area launched investigations and arrested one of the suspects, Munguti Mulandi, in Athi River. Mulandi led detectives to Lukenya Conservancy, where officers recovered pieces of broken spectacles and an earring believed to belong to Kanji.
