Kiambu Boy Who Scored 333 Marks in 2023 KCPE Lands 4-Year Scholarship, Goes School Shopping

 

A young boy who almost gave up his kidney to attend school has received overwhelming support from kind-hearted well-wishers. Kiambu boy Joshua Anyoso (l) during his school shopping spree. He later went to school (r) accompanied by his mum, Dorcas Mburu.  Joshua Anyoso scored 333 marks in the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and was called to Devki Ruiru Township Secondary School, but his parent could not afford the required amount. He was given a chance at Karima Boys High School in Murang'a, and a football organisation entirely sponsored his education. Mum of five lacking money for stationery However, Anyoso's mother, Dorcas Mburu, lacked the money to buy her son stationery and other shopping, including a metallic box.  "Let us make this young man's dream come true," said Derrick Mbugua, a Facebook user who shared Anyoso's story. Kenyans came together and contributed money towards Anyoso's plight, enabling the boy to do school shopping. He showed off the various school items he bought in the company of Mbugua and his mother, Mburu, who looked elated. "Through Kenyans of goodwill, we have managed to buy the young man a metallic box, school bag, mosquito net, and school shoes, among other things," Mbugua shared. Kiambu boy receives scholarship He also told TUKO.co.ke school fees was already sent to the school as Anyoso from Kiambu county joined his new school. "It is an exciting day and a new chapter for Anyoso, who wants to become a doctor. We wish him the best in his studies and career, as he is a gifted football player. A football organisation gave him a scholarship, paying his four-year school fees. So what is left is for him to bury his head in books and make his family proud," he said. Anyoso and his mother were eternally grateful to Kenyans for their help, as they showered the good Samaritans with prayers that they may be prosperous in all they did.
