The Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) proudly announced the arrival of the MSC Poesia, a magnificent luxury cruise ship, at the Port of Mombasa. A photo of the MSC Poesia at the Mombasa Port in Kenya. The vessel, operated by the Mediterranean Shipping Company, carried a remarkable 2,500 passengers and an accompanying crew of 1,000, with 20 of them being Kenyan nationals. Statement by Ports Authority In an official statement released on the X platform, KPA highlighted the significance of MSC Poesia's arrival, emphasising that the cruise liner's arrival showcased Kenya's growing prominence in the global cruise tourism industry.  "With a length overall of 294 metres, MSC Poesia is one of the biggest cruise vessels to have docked at the Port, coming barely a month since the port hosted another luxury liner, Norwegian Dawn. To be able to add value and support Cruise Tourism, KPA has invested in the requisite infrastructure, including the state-of-the-art cruise terminal to cement Kenya’s status as a hub not only in cargo operations but also cruise tourism in Africa," said KPA on X.
