In a post shared on Facebook on Tuesday, February 27, Murkomen Junior revealed he intended to buy airtime worth KSh 50 from M-Pesa. However, as part of human error, he added two zeros and ended up with 10 times more airtime. "I just mistakenly bought KSh 5k airtime instead of KSh 50. What next then?" He posed as he shared a screenshot of his airtime balance. How to reverse airtime transaction Safaricom told TUKO.co.ke that the airtime transaction can be reversed by forwarding the message to 456. The giant telecommunications company cautioned that the airtime must remain unused for the money to be reversed to the M-Pesa account. "Please forward the message to 456 and ensure the airtime remains un-used. Please be careful when transacting to avoid making the error," Safaricom stated. "You will receive a response from “Reversal" that the request for a reversal has been started, and that an update will be shared within two hours. You are encouraged to check your messages for an update from the header “Reversal” on the status of the reversal," it added.
