Kelvin Kiptum: William Ruto Orders Engineers to Build House for Marathoner's Family in 7 Days

President William Ruto has put in place plans to build a house for the family of world marathon record holder Kelvin Kiptum, who died in a road accident. William Ruto said the house must be ready in seven days. On Thursday, February 15, the head of state sent engineers to visit Kiptum's family to start constructing a three-bedroom house.  Why Ruto wants Kiptum's house ready in seven days? Citizen TV reported that the president wants the house to be built in a record seven days so it is ready before he is buried on February 24.  The president wants to be in that house before this marathon record holder is sent off as a hero. However, the family has to agree on the site where the house will be built, whether in the father's compound or on the pieces of land that Kiptum bought within Kaptagat. As reported earlier, the president is among the leaders who conveyed their heartfelt tribute in the wake of the tragic passing of the world-renowned athlete. In his message, Ruto asserted that the athlete represented the future of both the country and the sports fraternity, attributing this to his unmatched mental resilience and disciplined approach. "Kelvin Kiptum was a star. Arguably one of the world’s finest sportsmen, he broke barriers to secure a marathon record. He was only 24 yet, as a hero, he triumphed in Valencia, Chicago, London, and other top competitions. His mental strength and discipline were unmatched. Kiptum was our future. An extraordinary sportsman has left an extraordinary mark on the globe. Our thoughts are with the family and the sporting fraternity. Rest In peace," said Ruto.
