Family of Baringo girl who died in Ireland dispute suicide theory with new claims
The family of a Kenyan girl who is said to have taken her life over a disagreement with her Kenyan boyfriend has disputed that theory. Brigid Kandie Sanaipei died a few days ago in Ireland.
She is said to have died on Tue Feb 13, four days after arriving in Dublin. However, her family has not yet confirmed the cause of death, leaving many questions unanswered. Brigid has been in Ireland since last year.
The mother told Citizen, "I have seen all those things on social media, but I'm just there to say that we've not received any information concerning suicide we are just waiting for the authorities," she said.
The family had disclosed to Citizen TV that Brigid feared for her life over alleged threats from her boyfriend.
Days before she was found dead, Brigid had told her mother about being locked in her house and threatened with a knife by her boyfriend.
The family has rejected suicide theories and prefers to wait for an autopsy report and they will be traveling to Ireland.
She was pursuing further education and working part-time as a nurse. Her last post on Instagram was on Feb 9 as she shared a picture at the airport.
"As we get older, we get better at choosing ways to make us happy. We do better in choosing activities that make us happy," she captioned.
Her friends have eulogized her on her Instagram page. Read some of the comments below:
