American Idol ABC show recent episode features, Nya a Kenyan lady flagging the Kenyan flag worldwide.

Who is Nyachomba?

Nyachomba Muchai-Kinya aka Nya is a singer and a Broadway performer. The young beauty is a Kenyan who grew up in Florida but currently resides in New York.

The 27-year-old describes herself as a dancer and singer and according to her LinkedIn. She pursued communication from Lee University and kicked off her professional career as an Administrative Assistant at the French Woods Festival of the Performing Arts.

The aspiring singer continued to follow her passion for acting and has been a principal actor at Roundabout Theatre Company and has featured in several Broadway musicals. 

Now, she is making strides on a much bigger stage with her latest entry to the American Idol show. The network has released an episode with contestants auditioning among them Nya's test, which suggests she had rocked it.

Nya performed “Wait a Minute” by Willow Smith and blew the judges away with her vocals and her personality.

Singing “Wait a Minute” by Willow, she made the song her own, with Luke Bryan one of the judges calling her one of his favourites so far. “You don’t sound Broadway, you are a massive singer,” he said.

Katy Perry a judge in the show as well joked that she needed a fan to dramatically blow her hair as she sang. The crew brought out a small fan and Perry held it while Nya performed a few bars from her song.

Katy seemingly also enjoyed Nya's presence, as she quipped: "There is no de-Nya-ing that you are a star." She then voted 'Yes' to send her onwards.
