Charles Ouda: Makutano Junction and 7 Other Sizzling Shows that Made Late Actor Darling of Kenyans

 

On Sunday, February 4, Kenyans were devastated to learn that celebrated actor Charles Ouda had died. Apart from being an actor, Ouda also wore the hats of a writer, director, singer, TV host, and voice-over artist. Popular actor Charles Ouda (l), on The Know Zone set (r). 1. Makutano Junction Ouda played an engaging role in the famous TV series Makutano Junction, which aired on Citizen TV for many years; he was the lead for over 12 episodes and contributed as a writer for some episodes.  According to IMDB, one of his written episodes earned the World Media Award for Education in 2010.  2. Salem One of his most recent shows, Salem, brought into the limelight an intriguing principal known as Karani, a role that was played very well by Charles Ouda. In the show, he played alongside Jackie Matubia and other cast members who are also household names. In a tribute to the actor, Zebra Productions Executive Producer Njoki Muhoho called Charles a hero, role model and friend. 3. Discovery +254 Ouda was also a TV presenter per excellence, as was seen on TV shows such as Discovery +254. He hosted the show alongside actress Sarah Hassan, and it won a Kalasha International Award for Best Television Host.
