The Miss County National Beauty Contest has dethroned Miss County Kakamega and Miss People’s Choice 2023, Lawreen Shiyenzi. Miss County Kakamega Stripped Off Her Title, Contract Terminated Over Obscene The beauty queen found herself on the wrong side of the law over allegations she was involved in producing adult videos. Ms Shiyenzi “did not live up to the image” In a strongly-worded notice that has gone viral on social media, the organisers issued several demands. Reached for comment, the scheme’s social media manager Rico Santos told TUKO.co.ke that the viral statement was true. “We write to inform you that, you as Miss County-Kakamega and Miss County-People’s Choice Kenya 2023, have not lived up to the image and reputation of our brand as a representative,” it read. The letter further indicated that the award scheme had received videos from supporters showing her participating in obscenities for financial gain online. Ms Shiyenzi was stripped of both titles immediately, and her contract was terminated. Return crown, KSh 100k She was requested to return the crown and two sashes and reimburse the cash prize of KSh 100,000. “Failure for you to comply, we shall move to court and seek damages of KSh 5.4 million, used as our expenses to organize the Beauty Pageant,” the letter continued. The organisers added that they intend to file criminal charges against her with the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) over her unlawful act. Ms Shiyenzi’s alleged crime is punishable by a 25-year jail term, a KSh 20 million fine, or both. Efforts by TUKO.co.ke to contact the besieged beauty queen were futile as messages went unanswered.
