Renowned musician Jacob Obunga, better known by his stage name Otile Brown, has recently revealed the heartfelt inspiration behind his latest song ‘Dear X’.

Otile sheds light on the emotional turmoil surrounding his past relationship with Nabayet, also known as Nabbi.

In a candid revelation shared on his Instagram account, he delved into the poignant story behind the song. He expressed the profound courage it took to face the challenges of their broken relationship through his music.

Pouring his heart out, Otile Brown expressed his deep affection for the Ethiopian beauty and his unwavering desire to formalise their bond through marriage.

“I loved the Ethiopian lady so much, and I really wanted to marry her. But unfortunately, she rejected me several times because of my past mistakes,” he confessed.

Despite his heartfelt attempts to reconcile with Nabayet, including travelling to Ethiopia to win her back, Otile Brown lamented the eventual breakdown of their relationship.

“But even I didn’t fight too hard for her because I felt she had changed. She wasn’t the Ethiopian I knew. The heartbreak and the distance discouraged her. I had to accept the loss and let go,” he said.

The aftermath of their breakup left Otile Brown with deep emotional distress, making it difficult for him to move forward in new relationships.

“That decision hurt me a lot, and I stayed single for a long time because I felt no one understood me like she did, and I was afraid I would never find someone like her for the rest of my life,” he revealed.

Otile Brown also offered a glimmer of hope when he revealed that he had started a new relationship.

He stressed the importance of respecting his current partner and urged the audience to show her love and support.

Otile and Nabayet split in January 2022 after a year-long relationship.

Prior to that, Otile dated famous socialite Vera Sidika.
