Karen Nyamu comes to the rescue of 17 needy students from Nairobi slums [Video]

 Nominated Senator Karen Nyamu has emerged as a shining beacon of inspiration in the realm of public service, particularly in the sphere of education.

With an unwavering commitment to fostering positive change, Senator Nyamu has demonstrated a profound dedication to uplifting the less fortunate in society by sponsoring education for those in need.

In 2024 alone, Nyamu through “The Karen Nyamu Education Endowment Program” has seen 17 very needy and bright students from Nairobi slums benefit from 4 Years Full Scholarships.

The children are drawn from Mathare, Kibra, Korogocho, Kiambiú, Mukuru kwa Njenga, Dandora and other informal settlements within Nairobi City County.

These children have since joined their dream Schools which includes Mary Hills Girls, Lavington Girls, Mang’u High School, Masinga Boys, the prestigious St. Lucie Kiriri Girls, TJ Kanjwang Secondary schools among others.

The 17 students have seen the Karen Nyamu Foundation and their partners spend over Sh 2M for their uniforms, shopping, and admission to their respective secondary schools and are expected to be spending at least Sh1.5M every academic year for the next four years.

The foundation also has been financing several young people to gain skills such as hairdressing, plumbing, and other technical courses in different colleges within Nairobi county

The Karen Nyamu Education Endowment Program is a program run by the Karen Nyamu Foundation under the patronage of Senator Karen Nyamu to promote equity for all regarding access to education by providing scholarships to bright & vulnerable children.

The program has seen the hopes of many children revived in the last 2 years.
