NTV Kenya reported that the caretaker of a private school in Kariobangi pleaded guilty to the charge and is awaiting sentencing on Tuesday, February 13. During his arrest, Malenya had just received KSh 2,000 from Vincent Chokaa, an Advocate, after asking him for ‘Christmas’ through a WhatsApp message. How did Malenya start posing as Wasike’s spouse In her affidavit, Wasike said she bought her Safaricom line between 2010 and 2011, which she registered under her name. Wasike used the line until early 2020, when she realised that the same number was being used by someone else.  Wasike said she contacted Safaricom but got no assistance forcing her to throw the line. “I didn’t understand or comprehend how that number was reissued and despite contacting Safaricom customer care, I got no assistance and I had to do away with it,” she said. The Principal magistrate said the Safaricom Customer representative told her the line was re-issued to another subscriber and that I should call her contacts and inform them that she wasn’t using the number. Wasike told the police her callers kept asking her through her new number why her boyfriend or husband kept asking for favours, such as lunch money.
