Yvonne Okwara Voted Kenya's Best English Female News Anchor 2023

 

Award-winning broadcaster Yvonne Okwara is the best female English TV anchor of the year 2023. Yvonne Okwara was voted Kenya's best English news anchor 2023.  Who’s Kenya’s top English female news anchor? This is according to a TUKO.co.ke poll conducted to celebrate excellence and women in media over the past year. Okwara topped the list that included other leading news anchors, among them, NTV's Olive Burrows, Shiksha Arora (KBC) and Flora Limukii of TV47. TUKO Poll Shiksha was runner-up with many lauding her for her passion, diligence and a lot of enthusiasm at KBC. As part of the survey, respondents were asked to provide the reason why their candidate for the poll was the best. Below are some of the reasons why Okwara emerged as the winner. Peter Kay Officiól: "Yvonne Okwara does her assignments very well." Kë Ññ: "The English for Yvonne. Then the enthusiasm for Shiksha Arora.” Mical Njiloh: "Yvonne is the best.” Grace Tim: "Yvonne Okwara. TV was made for her and she was made for TV.” Daniel Mbithi: "Yvonne Okwara. Eloquent, beautiful well thought out presentations.” Dorcas Otwori: "Yvonne Okwara she is fluent and inspiring.” Okwara has 13 years of experience in radio and television. She currently serves as a senior news anchor and editor in charge of research and planning at Citizen TV. She moved to Citizen after a 5-year stint at KTN. Before that, she hosted a talk show on QFM and did voiceovers for NTV’s business show, Money Matters. In 2023 Ahead of Khaligraph, Nyashinski The Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) alumni started her career in journalism at KBC where she hosted a children's variety show. Who’s Kenya’s best preacher 2023? As to the preachers that made an impact, pastor Ezekiel Odero of the New Life Prayer Centre and Church based in Kilifi County carried the day. Odero was voted Preacher of the Year 2023 trouncing other famed preachers; James Ng'ang'a of Neno Evangelism, Tony Kiamah (River of God Church Parklands) and Harrison Ng'ang'a of Christian Foundation Fellowship church. The wealthy televangelist made headlines after he was arrested and later acquitted over links to the Shakahola massacre.
