Siaya: Jubilations as Girl Who Used to Sell Groundnuts to Support Granny Scores B Plain in KCSE

 


There was jubilation in Alego, Siaya county when a young girl known for selling groundnuts to support her aged grandma got a B Plain in the just-released Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE). According to Kisumu philanthropist Silas Odhiambo Apuoyo Biggy, when the girl was admitted to St Francis Rangala Secondary School in Ugenya, Siaya county, she had nothing to her name.  "As her grandmother was not in a position to pay her school fees, Vienda turned to selling groundnuts to support the old lady," Apuoyo told TUKO.co.ke.  "Vienda scored B in KCSE, thank you friends," he added.
