[PHOTOS] Ruto opens Mother and Child Hospital in Iten

 

President William Ruto on Sunday officially inaugurated the Mother and Child Hospital at Iten County Referral Hospital in Elgeyo Marakwet.

Ruto was accompanied by his Deputy Rigathi Gachagua and Health CS Susan Nakhumicha. 

Also present was Elgeyo Marakwet Governor Wisley Rotich.

The facility is a significant step towards enhancing maternal and child healthcare in the country.

Kenya has in the recent past put in place measures to lower the burden of maternal, newborn and infant mortalities.

Despite the progress, health stakeholders have acknowledged that more needs to be done to achieve the WHO targets by 2030.
