Nairobi Teen Girl Goes Missing after Mum Requests for Her KSh 700 Chama Money

 

While many ended the year on a high and hope to maintain the same momentum in 2024, a mother is in a sombre mood. Nairobi teen girl Virginia Wanjiru has been missing for two weeks.  Since she went missing from home, Grace Njeri Ngugi has not seen her daughter for almost two weeks. Returning home from hospital after three weeks Njeri said her beautiful daughter Virginia Wanjiru left their home on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at 4 pm.  She said she would fetch her mother's chama money from her friend who lived around the neighbourhood. "I had returned home from a three-week admission in the hospital the previous day and asked her to give me the KSh 1,200 that I had given her to keep for me. She said her friend had the money and went to fetch it. She returned with KSh 500 and said she would bring the balance the next day," a heartbroken Njeri said. Leaving Waruku in evening without luggage Wanjiru, popularly known as Emma to her friends and family, left home on Thursday evening but never returned. She carried nothing extra from her home as she headed to her friend's home in Waruku, Nairobi county. "I started looking for her, beginning from her friend's home. She told me Wanjiru never gave her any money. I have been making rounds in town, carrying her photo and asking if anyone had seen her. There is a girl who hawks who told me she had interacted with Wanjiru. Wanjiru told her her name and that she had run away from home, but she did not give the reason," the mum said. I am worried, and it pains me, Njeri Njeri said she had reported the disappearance of her 16-year-old daughter to the police but has not received any feedback. She added her daughter's siblings ask her if she was going to look for their elder sister whenever she steps out. "As a mother, it pains me. It is not easy. I have no idea where she is and I am worried. My family has helped me look for her, but I am in distress," she said. Virginia's mother can be contacted at +254 711 536481. Mother-daughter emotional reunion after three years In other uplifting news, tears flowed as a mother happily reunited with her daughter after nearly three years. The hardworking lady reflected on her enormous sacrifices for her child to have a promising future. Many people were touched after seeing the loving mother who could return to her beloved child again.
