Moses Kuria Unveils Huduma Kenya New Contact Centre Number: "Tumeoga Na Tuko Soko"
Public Service, Performance, and Delivery Management Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has unveiled the new Huduma Kenya contact centre number. One of the Huduma Kenya centres across the country. Taking to his official X account on the evening of Tuesday, January 30, Kuria urged Kenyans seeking government services from Huduma Centres to call 1919 "Tumeoga Na Tuko Soko. Call us on 1919," Kuria posted. How Moses Kuria plans to transform Huduma Kenya Upon assuming office, Kuria pledged to expand the network of Huduma Centres countrywide while expanding the range of services to cover all of the government’s 5,000-plus services in a move aimed at reducing friction in public service. "Once this is done, we expect to roll out the service to the domestic and international sectors while at the same time transforming the centres into a global leader in e-commerce and business process outsourcing," Kuria explained. The CS also pledged to see to it that his ministry undertakes reforms for state corporations and state-owned enterprises to streamline their operations, making them more efficient and cutting waste. TUKO.co.ke previously reported that Kuria hailed former president Uhuru Kenyatta over one of the latter's projects. On Wednesday, November 8, the CS was in Nakuru to lead in the marking of the tenth anniversary of Huduma Kenya, under which Huduma Centres were set up. Believed to be Uhuru's brainchild, Huduma Kenya was aimed at facilitating the provision of a wide array of governmental services in a single unit. Numerous public-oriented services would be merged into one location, mostly on the same floor, so that Kenyans could easily access them. Why Moses Kuria heaped praise on Uhuru The first Huduma Centre (City Square) in Nairobi was housed in the Teleposta Building; it was launched in 2013 by Uhuru and his then-deputy, William Ruto. Looking back, Kuria says the programme became a game-changer to the benefit of the citizenry seeking government services. Leading the celebrations in Nakuru on Wednesday, November 8, Kuria hailed Uhuru and Kirinyaga governor Anne Waiguru for helping Kenya realise a dream.
