Millicent Omanga Opposes Senator Tabitha Keroche's Call for Susan Kihika's Impeachment: "Witchhunt"

Former nominated senator Millicent Omanga has criticised the calls to impeach Nakuru governor Susan Kihika. Millicent Omanga opposed calls to impeach the Nakuru governor.  Why Omanga is unhappy with Senator Keroche In a statement on Thursday, January 25, Omanga slammed Senator Tabitha Karanja Keroche for pushing for Kihika's ouster. The city politician termed the calls by Keroche unfortunate and a smack of hypocrisy. She said Kihika should instead be supported to deliver her mandate to the people of Nakuru. "Sen Tabitha Keroche’s call for the impeachment of Susan Kihika is unfortunate and smacks of hypocrisy. It can't be gainsaid that the people of Nakuru are in need of services. Gov should be supported to deliver on her mandate without unnecessary diversions and political witch-hunts. For God's sake, women should stop being their own enemies!" Omanga said. Why Tabitha Karanja wants Kihika Impeached As reported earlier, the Nakuru senator threatened to initiate an impeachment motion against Governor Kihika. In a statement on Tuesday, January 23, Karanja rallied Nakuru county MCAs to table an impeachment motion against Kihika over her conduct and ethics regarding the Nakuru War Memorial Hospital wrangles. She warned that if ward representatives failed to table an impeachment motion against the governor, she would collect signatures from the people to remove Kihika from office for failing to show leadership. "As Nakuru people, we call upon our MCAs to draw an impeachment motion regarding the governor's conduct and ethics; failure to do so, we as Nakuru people will compel them to do so by following Article One of the constitution," Tabitha said. The senator condemned the forceful takeover of the contested hospital, arguing that it was inhumane and against the law.
