Kenyan Woman Uses Shipping Containers to Build 10 Luxe Rental Units in Kenol

A Kenyan woman has inspired netizens after using an unorthodox building for Airbnb units in Kenol town. Kenyans were impressed by container units built in Kenol. How much do container Airbnb's cost? Footage shared by Kenyan YouTuber Edna depicted the 10 container homes clad with wood on the exterior, giving a refined look. The investor fully utilised the limited space by setting up a container shop as the perimeter fence. The entrance leads to the reception area, and another gate leads to the rental units. “It is great for escaping the weekday routine and staying in a serene environment,” said Edna. The container space between the container units is paved with ballast, and potted plants offer a serene environment. The compound comes alive at night with LED lights and has a fireplace. The interiors of the houses feature modern, minimalist styling. The kitchenette has two burner gas, enough storage in cabinets, a sink with running water, a microwave and a fridge. Next to the kitchen is the shower with a toilet and sink. On the other side is a small living space with a sofa set, TV, table and water dispenser. A bed sits at the furthest end of the room. Guests at the units are charged KSh 2,200 daily.  “An advantage of container homes is the flexibility- they can be transported to a different location if the owner wants to construct permanent structures on this land,” observed Edna. Impressed netizens reacted by saying: @ListedInTheSouth: “The finished product looks lovely.” @isabelcowley1248: “I love this layout- neat little complex.” @FebineAwuor: “I can’t get over the beauty of this place.”
