Senator Karen Nyamu has opened up about her partying days, revealing she lived life to the fullest in the early 2000s. Karen Nyamu introduced her elder brother. Photos: Karen Nyamu. Source: Facebook When did Karen Nyamu visit the US? Sharing a throwback photo of her party life in the United States, Nyamu revealed how a trip in 2011 almost changed her career's trajectory. Senator Nyamu said she partied like no other on New Year's Eve in 2011.  Senator Nyamu said her lesser-known elder brother drove her to a club in a different city to usher in the New Year. In the grainy photo, a cheerful Nyamu, who is in all black, is captured with her leather jacket-clad brother sharing a hug at the club. Nyamu posted that she hangs onto the memory since it was around the time that he almost convinced her to practice law in the US. She said she took it up and did interviews at two law firms to intern as she studied law. Three months later, however, the University of Nairobi alumni, who graduated in 2006 with an LLB, was on a plane headed home. Though she pursued an LLB at UoN, she could practice law in the US by obtaining a Juris Doctor (JD) degree. The JD degree allows foreign-trained lawyers to take the US bar exam. Reacting to the post, a section of her followers wondered how she could have turned out had she followed it. Mary Mesh: “Some people recently flew to the US while you were there years ago.” Alishe McGinnis Wangari: “She started going to the US as a teen, and some people here think she is worried about some people seeking asylum in America. Lanes! I love her coz she is humble despite being internationally exposed." Brian Bomet: “You would have been so far ahead if you stayed in the US.” What did Karen Nyamu do in Rwanda? Keeping up with her New Year's Eve tradition, Nyamu, in December 2023, shared a video of her highlight during her stay in Rwanda. The senator was in Rwanda for the East Africa Legislative Assembly (EALA) games. She, however, left behind her baby daddy, mugithi singer Samidoh, to babysit her eldest daughter
