John Matara: Airbnb Where Scarlet Wahu Was Killed Isn't Registered

It is now emerging that John Matara did not formally reserve the short-term rental flat in South B Estate, where Starlet Wahu was murdered, using his legal name. On January 4, Wahu was murdered, and Matara is the primary suspect. Nairobi News reported that the Papino Apartments in South B Estate's home number Y32 is where the crime took place. Although it has since come to light that the residence was not formally booked through the Airbnb website, the owner of the property told police that she was running an Airbnb. The company expressed their sadness at the events, but they felt compelled to clarify that they are not connected to the residence. "We do not have an account linked to the name of the accused, and the property in question did not have a reservation made on Airbnb for the dates reported," part of the statement said. TUKO.co.ke understands that Airbnb has a website where people travelling usually use to book rooms, and they usually charge a commission for the same. CCTV footage seen by this reporter captured the suspect leaving the premises at 10:30pm after he committed the heinous act before proceeding to Mbagathi Hospital, which is located seven kilometres from the scene of the crime, to seek medical attention.
