Chief Government Pathologist Johansen Oduor has disclosed chilling findings he came across while examining the decapitated body of Rita Waeni, who was found killed in a rented apartment in Roysambu. Johansen Oduor said Rita Waeni's killers knew what they were doing and tried to hide DNA traces. Rita Waeni's postmortem findings While acknowledging that he had never come across such a case in the whole of his forensic life, Oduor said that Waeni's killers knew so much about the structure of a human body. Speaking to the press after completing an autopsy on Waeni's body, Oduor said that the deceased lost a lot of blood, which likely happened after she was already dead. He indicated that further toxicology analysis would be conducted to establish if the deceased was exposed to poisonous substances. In his assessment, the way the body was decapitated pointed to an individual or individuals who knew what they were doing. According to the pathologist, the killers used sharp objects and a piece of sawing equipment to perpetrate the heinous act.Gov't Pathologist on state of Rita Waeni's body "The head of the femur was cut clean to separate the limbs from the trunk of the body. This was someone who knew what they were doing. "The removal of the nails can only be explained as an attempt by the assailant to make it difficult for investigators to get their DNA traces. We took the intact nails, from which we will try to obtain DNA samples," he explained. The pathologist added that naturally, humans would fight back when attacked or killed, and it was possible to get DNA traces of the attackers from the nails and hands of the victim. He was optimistic that the samples obtained would help the police narrow down the killers after being analysed.
