How Christiana Shusho's 'Shusha Nyavu' concert went down [Videos]

 

On December 31, 2023, Tanzanian singer Christian Shusho and several other Kenyan acts thrilled Nairobians with a fun-filled night as they ushered in the new year 2024.

Performing at Garden City Mall, Shusho was the main headliner of the “Shusha Nyavu” concert that had been put together by Mwalimu Churchill and his team.

Gates to the last concert of the year 2023 opened at around 4:00 PM –with Performances from fast-rising stars Kinoti and Ethan Muziki.

Unlike other concerts that had happened in Nairobi in 2023, this was Gospel Gospel-themed event with a list of gospel ministers given the priority to entertain those who had bought tickets to the event.

It all started on TikTok after a section of Kenyans discovered that Christina Shusho always sings her songs directly from the scriptures.

This built up a conversation and Shusho became a trending topic in Kenya. Many who weighed in, tried as much as possible to express their opinions without offending the woman of God.

Out of curiosity and the need to witness what scriptures sound like when they are performed live on stage- Kenyans demanded to have Christina Shusho for a show in Nairobi.

Churchill listened to them and December 31, 2023, was set as the date for the concert.

Fast forward, Kenyans from all walks of life showed up in numbers for the #ShushaNyavu concert. It was a full house.

The venue was full of thankful individuals who were out to tell God “Thank You” for making us see another year.

The event attracted notable figures among them Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja, Teacher Wanjiku, Dufla Diligon, and Frida Mwaka among others.

Several comedians were also accorded the chance to interact with the crows that had turned up for the end-year show.

Tom Dakari, Sammy Kioko, Arnold Xaviour, Terence Creative, Nicki BigFish, Omwami Comedian, and Mitch are some of the comedians who were at the show.

Gospel singer Solomon Mkubwa and Mercy Masika curtain raised for the star of the night. They performed until a few minutes to midnight and they all delivered to the fullest.

The collective energy of the audience burst into unbridled pleasure and dance as the clock struck midnight, signaling the formal beginning of the new year.

On stage were all the comedians Churchill had worked with for the success of his end year concert.

At exactly 00:10, the star of the Night Christian Shusho showed up on stage and the crowd could not keep calm.

Everyone was ready to “Shusha Nyavu”.

Shusho's live performance, backed by a complete band, connected with the audience, generating an atmosphere of joy and spiritual connection.

The award-winning singer used an emotional moment to offer a sincere prayer for everybody in attendance and the nation at large, emphasizing unity, optimism, and positivity for the next year.

While on stage, Shusho also used the opportunity to premiere her upcoming collaboration with Kenya’s Mercy Masika.

Zabron Singers

Zabron Singers is an evangelism group founded in Kahama, Tanzania where the last acts on stage at the “Shusha Nyavu” concert.

They performed their hit singles like; Mkno wa Bwana, Uko Single, Sweetie Sweetie, Niko Sawa, and Usiniache among others.

They also shared the stage with Shusho at the time she was concluding her set.
