Eugene Wamalwa promises fierce political battle in 2024

Democratic Action Party (DAP) leader Eugene Wamalwa has promised a fierce political battle in 2024 from the opposition.

In a statement, Wamalwa regretted that the opposition had not delivered much to Kenyans.

"2023 ushered in the oppressive Finance Act that gave rise to high taxes &cost of living. We fought it in Parliament, in Court, on the streets, in the NADCO boardrooms but didn’t meet your expectations. ln 2024 the fight continues &may the Good Lord renew our strength," Wamalwa stated.

This comes weeks days after Wamalwa expressed his dissent to the National Dialogue Committee's (NADCO) report unveiled in November.

Wamalwa on November 26, said NADCO did not do justice to the issue of cost of living that formed the basis of the talks.

“I didn’t and will not append my signature to the NADCO report and have not and will not accept any sitting allowance for the same because I believe we did not do justice to the single most important issue to Kenyans; the cost of living,” he said in November.

Wamalwa, a co-principal of the Azimiola Umoja-One Kenya coalition party, was the head of the opposition wing's technical team in the bipartisan talks.
