DJ Evolve recalls not wanting to go to work on the night he was shot at B Club

Felix Orinda popularly known as DJ Evolve has revealed new details surrounding the night he was fatally shot at a popular Nairobi nightclub.

Evolve, who has been confined to a wheelchair after numerous surgeries after he was shot in the neck on January 17, 2020, now states he was hesitant to go to work on that fateful night.

The former entertainer, who regained his voice just 8 months ago after a long battle for his life noted that his instincts were trying to communicate something to him but he ignored the gut feelings brushing it off mainly because of the numerous calls he kept on getting asking him to show up.

"On this day, four years ago, God showed up for me, and He has been walking this journey with me to date," the disc jockey said while speaking to a local publication.

He went on to narrate how on the fateful day his body just didn't want to go to work. According to Evolve, his phone's alarm kept on going off but he kept on snoozing it.

"I kept ignoring my alarm, but eventually I had to go around 4 am because I kept getting calls. I really didn't want to go that night," the entertainer said.

Finally, he reminded people to learn to take a day at a time and be thankful for whatever comes. He also gave praise to God for helping sustain him and nurse him back to health.

"Nothing is promised; it is also impossible. Just keep going," DJ Evolve said adding;

"We wouldn't be having this conversation if it wasn't for God,"

Last year while speaking to The Star after surgery, Evolve said he spent two days in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for recovery for two days and was moved to the general ward for a week.

He revealed that the first words he uttered were his name.

I was really surprised when I spoke my first words because I was doubting. My first words were my name. Actually after surgery the doctor came and asked what my name was and I wasn’t even sure If I could speak," Evolve added.
