Christina Shusho given a Kenyan name by Churchill as she drops collabo with Mercy Masika

 

Award-winning Tanzanian singer Christina Shusho has been given a Kenyan name by legendary comedian Mwalimu Churchill days after landing in Kenya.

Shusho who headlined the Shusha Nyavu concert on New Year’s Eve has revealed that Churchill gave her the name Mwende.

Mwende is a Kamba name that means a pioneering spirit. An explanation from Myfirstnamerockls website states that people named Mwende are always born natural leaders, focused and achievement-oriented.

“Christina Shusho "Mwende" ( my Kenyan name given to me by @MwalimChurchill,” Christina Shusho shared.

At the same time, Shusho thanked Kenyans for showing up at her show in large numbers. She also thanked Churchill and team for putting together a spectacular event.

“To God be the Glory. Tulivyo Vuka Mwaka Kenya. #gardencity.

Ahsanteni sana kwa Kufika. Nichukue nafasi hii pia kuwashukuru Team nzima @mwalimchurchill na meneja wako @its_waweru,” Shusho said in part.

At exactly 00:10, the star of the Night Christian Shusho showed up on stage and the crowd could not keep calm.

Everyone was ready to “Shusha Nyavu”.

Shusho's live performance, backed by a complete band, connected with the audience, generating an atmosphere of joy and spiritual connection.

The award-winning singer used an emotional moment to offer a sincere prayer for everybody in attendance and the nation at large, emphasizing unity, optimism, and positivity for the next year.

While on stage, Shusho also used the opportunity to premiere her collaboration with Kenya’s Mercy Masika.
