Police in Kasarani have launched a crackdown on Airbnb operators after a woman was found murdered in Roysambu A woman was found murdered an apartment in Roysambu on Sunday, January 14.  On Sunday, January 14, an unidentified lady was brutally killed in an Airbnb at an apartment along TRM Drive. Kasarani police boss warns Airbnb operators Risper Muthoni, the Airbnb manager where the unidentified lady was found dead, said she discovered the gruesome murder through a caretaker of the apartment.  Muthoni said the apartment had no CCTV camera, but she handed the footage to the police from the nearby shop where the suspect picked up the key. After the revelation, Jimmy Kimari, the head of Kasarani Divisional Criminal Investigations, warned Airbnb operators who did not have cameras at their facility. Kimari asked operators to keep detailed records of their guests, warning that soon police will launch a crackdown on those without CCTV. "There is no Airbnb allowed to operate here without having cameras. If anyone operates Airbnb without cameras, and such a thing happens again, we shall equally take action against the owners of the facilities," Kimari said as reported by PLUG TV. According to Kimari, Airbnb must physically take the accurate details of their customers before giving out keys. The latest case comes barely a week after socialite Starlet Wahu was found murdered in an Airbnb in Nairobi's South B area.  Why does TRM Airbnb have no CCTV cameras? Meanwhile, Risper Muthoni, the Airbnb manager where the unidentified lady was found dead, said she discovered the gruesome murder through a caretaker of the apartment. According to Citizen Digital, Muthoni said the caretaker called him on Sunday, January 14, informing her of polythene bags inside the Airbnb as well as a blood-soaked white bed sheet. "He told me there were blood stains that were leading to my house," Muthoni told Citizen Digital. She revealed the suspect rented out the Airbnb on Saturday, January 13 at 3 pm. Muthoni gave the police CCTV footage of where he picked up the key. "Nyumba haina CCTV lakini mahali kwa duka alienda kuchukua funguo iko na CCTV, we have tried to call him but simu yake ni mteja ("he house doesn't have CCTV, but the place where he went to pick up the keys has CCTV. We have tried to call him, but his phone is unreachable)," she said.
