Kisumu: Body of Female Teacher Found Wrapped in Mat Behind Her House, Husband Arrested

Police are investigating the alleged murder of a 33-year-old secondary school teacher by her husband. Police officers secure a crime scene. The teacher from Obwolo Secondary School in Kisumu was allegedly attacked and killed by her husband at her Oboch pub in Nyakach sub-county. Confirming the incident, North Nyakach Division Assistant County Commissioner Darwin Orina said the police had commenced an investigation. Orina stated that the suspect, the lady’s husband, was also in custody, adding that the law would not be lenient to anybody involved in the heinous act. “The suspect is already in custody, and investigations have commenced. Any other person who will be found to have been involved in the matter will be apprehended,” he stated. A report by Citizen Digital revealed that the man reportedly attacked his wife and killed her before wrapping the body in a mat and placing it behind the house. What happened to the Kisumu teacher Oboch location chief Micheal Gundu disclosed that the incident happened Monday, January 22, at mid-day, adding that the couple had been having issues for some time. The chief further noted that when locals realized this and found the body, they attacked the husband, who is currently in police custody.  According to witnesses, the man tried to conceal his act but was caught by an angry mob that tried to inflict their rudimentary form of justice. Kakamega man kills wife In another tragic turn of events, police launched investigations after a man allegedly killed his wife following a domestic dispute in Lukume area of Malava constituency. The man, identified as Isaiah, allegedly killed his wife and hid her body on the roof of the house before taking his own life following a confirmation over infidelity allegations. Kakamega County Police Commander Joseph Kigen said the investigation is underway and that they are awaiting the results of an autopsy on the bodies. Before committing the crime, the deceased man claimed that his wife was having extramarital affairs after returning home from Nanyuki, where he works. Neighbours said Isaiah confronted his wife and admitted that she had been bringing another man into their marital bed in the husband’s absence.
