Watch: Margaret Kenyatta’s interaction with Moses Kuria raises eyebrows

News

Moses Kuria, the Cabinet Secretary for Public Service, Performance, and Delivery Management, made an unexpected appearance in Kisumu.

He was among the dignitaries present at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga’s memorial service at the Ofafa Memorial Hall on Saturday, January 20.

Despite being a vocal critic of both Odinga and Uhuru Kenyatta, Kuria notably ignored Governor Gladys Wanga before exchanging greetings with other attendees, including Margaret Kenyatta, Ida Odinga, and Raila.

Observers noted that Margaret appeared to give the CS a cool reception based on her interaction with him. Kuria had previously criticized Uhuru after the former president urged his successor, William Ruto, to refrain from blaming him for the government’s failures and the economic downturn.

In response, Kuria admonished Uhuru for the state of affairs he left behind, vowing to address the challenges without unnecessary complaints.

Kenyans speculated that Margaret’s reserved reception of Kuria might be influenced by his earlier comments about her husband.

Social media users shared various reactions, with some suggesting that Margaret may still harbour resentment over Kuria’s criticism of Uhuru in the past.
